Hi! I’m Felicia Oh and I got my Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in just 4 1/2 years and beat Leticia Ribeiro and Megumi Fujii on the ways to the finals of ADCC only 6 1/2 years after starting BJJ with NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE!

When I got addicted to jiu-jitsu, I kept trying to figure out how I could get better AND how I could GET BETTER FASTER!

It felt like my progress was slow, painful and full of frustration.

I didn’t realize it at the time – no, not even after Jean Jacques Machado gave me my BLACK BELT 4 1/2 YEARS after I walked onto a mat for the first time and having had NO PRIOR MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE  – but in my desire to speed up my progress and learning, I HAD developed successful training and competition techniques!

These techniques and strategies helped me to accomplish things I had never even dreamed of!

I realized that there are no secrets, just things that NO ONE has taught you yet. And no one was teaching and using them to help people like you get BETTER at Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling FASTER!!!

I have always told my students that COMPETITION helps you IMPROVE FASTER.

Now it’s time for me to share my competition and training secrets with you so YOU CAN GET BETTER FASTER TOO!

This seminar will cover:

  • The most common myths about BJJ/Grappling
  • How to know when you are ready to compete
  • Deciding to compete and getting ready
  • Answers to the most common questions about competition
  • How to optimize your class time and prepare for competition even if no one else at your academy is
  • Mental training on and off the mat
  • Physical conditioning on and off the mat
  • The process of preparing for a competition
  • What to do months, weeks, days, hours before and during the competition
  • The Psychology of Competition
  • The competition mindset on and off the mat
  • What to do during the competition itself
  • Wining, losing and what happens next

NOTE: This is not a BJJ/GRAPPLING technique seminar!!!

That’s what your instructor and academy are for :D

COMPETITION is like any skill.

It can be learned, practiced and improved.

And like any other skill, there is a learning process which includes trial, error, guidance and feedback.

Some people have natural abilites that can be optimized. Other people (like me) have had to learn every step of the way…whether it’s how to DO jiu-jitsu or how to COMPETE in jiu-jitsu.

In this seminar, I will share with you the process I discovered for preparing for COMPETITION which helped me to improve at a rapid rate!

They are also things YOU can do whether you’re interested in COMPETING or just getting BETTER FASTER!

“I think a big problem is that people just keep saying, it just takes time, it’s all about mat time. Which is true… Of course you’re going to get better if you put in the time, but if you want to get better faster you have to be deliberate in your methods. I wish I could have attended your seminar as a brand new white belt, I can’t imagine how different things would be now.”

This 6-hour classroom seminar will cover EVERYTHING about jiu-jitsu and competition except the jiu-jitsu!

It is not about jiu-jitsu technique. You have your instructor for that and THAT is why you go to class.

  • You will learn how you can optimize your training time in class.
  • You will learn what you can do to get better even when you are outside of class or injured!
  • You will learn the secret to never being nervous about competing again!
  • You will learn how to optimize your class time for competition AND accelerated progress
  • You will learn how to continuously improve and keep getting better

When I first walked into Jean Jacques Machado’s Academy in Tarzana, CA, I was 33 years old and didn’t really know what BJJ was! I had never done any martial arts (unless you count the 3 weeks of karate in college) but my friend’s husband, Mike, invited me to check out a class. We were just returning from a horrendous hiking trip to Mt. Whitney and I guess he thought I might like BJJ. He explained to me the concept of technique vs. size and strength. I had had enough of the great outdoors for a while and something indoors (he neglected to mention it was actually a “padded room”) sounded safe. Mike was a bit older than me and wasn’t a very big guy. How difficult could this “jiu-jitsu” thing be?

When I got to the academy I filled out the application form. There was a question that asked: Would you like to earn a Black Belt?

Well, of course I would like to earn a Black Belt in a martial art. Isn’t that what martial arts was about? Counting in Japanese and getting your Black Belt in a year or two, right? I wrote “YES”.

I didn’t really notice but for a long time, I was the only woman at the academy and then an occasional teenager would show up and disappear. Jean Jacques went off to compete at ADCC in 2001 but I didn’t really know what it was.

4 1/2 years later, Jean Jacques presented me my BLACK BELT.

6 1/2 years later I was competing in the finals of ADCC!

At this seminar, I will take you through my simple system, step-by-step, EVERYTHING I learned and what I did over those competition years that helped me progress faster than most other people training.

In only 6 hours you will learn what it took me years of time, money, frustration, blood and sweat on the mat and tears in the “locker room”  - NEVER on the mat ;) – to learn.

We all love jiu-jitsu and put in our time, money, heart and soul into our training.

Imagine if you could learn how to accelerate your learning and speed up your progress.

You will improve the quality of your game and your training and increase the speed of your learning.

You will see your abilities and confidence grow EVERY TIME YOU WALK ON THE MAT, EVERY TIME YOU COMPETE and even EVERY TIME YOU GO TO CLASS!

Your one-time seminar investment, which is LESS THAN the cost of most academy’s MONTHLY DUES will PAY YOU DIVIDENDS as you progress faster than you ever have before!
